About Bhoo
A global platform redefining architecture through sustainability, innovation, and earth-based construction.
Bhoo – The Festival of Earth Architecture is an international annual festival organised by the Urvi Foundation, dedicated to advancing sustainable and regenerative construction practices. Hosted at Down to Earth Village in Trivandrum, Bhoo serves as a living platform where architects, engineers, students, researchers, artisans, and policymakers converge to explore earth as a viable and contemporary building material.
Rooted in ecological responsibility and the philosophy of the Stone Free Movement, the festival bridges traditional indigenous knowledge with modern technologies. Through immersive workshops, exhibitions, global dialogues, and collaborative construction exercises, participants gain hands-on experience and contribute to shaping the future of sustainable architecture.
A Historic Milestone
Bhoo.26 marks a landmark moment in India’s architectural journey with the initiation of the country’s first earth-based 3D-printed village. Using locally sourced earth and advanced additive manufacturing technologies, the festival transforms learning into real-world application while demonstrating scalable, low-carbon construction solutions.
More than just a festival, Bhoo is a platform for knowledge exchange, innovation, and collective action. By bringing together diverse perspectives from across disciplines and cultures, it empowers participants to rethink construction practices and contribute to a sustainable and resilient built environment.
